Lift & Lock have launched a new Universal “one size fits all” Replacement uPVC handle set to their range of lockable handles. The patented registered design incorporates a sliding escutcheon to accommodate 68-92mm centres and infinitely variable fixing lugs in order to use the old handle’s fixing holes. This means the door does not have to be drilled and only the use of a screwdriver is involved. Average fitting time is 5 minutes. The new Universal “one size fits all” Replacement uPVC handle set from Lift & Lock will be displayed on Aldridge Security Ltd’s stand (No’s 200 & 204) at the forthcoming MLA Expo 2008 show at Telford International Centre 30th May – 1st June 2008. A qualified locksmith from the Lift & Lock team will be on hand to answer any questions and to demonstrate how a notoriously troublesome market has been converted to a simply and highly lucrative one.
Crime reduction gets a lift from Lift & Locks new handle range
The level of domestic crime slowly falls but the continued high level of financial loss and personal distress is a constant concern. With over 25 mllion burglaries reported in the past 20 years, there is cause to worry. Unauthorised access through doors is the most common form of entrance into the home. Whether through forced entry, follow in attack or simple distraction burglary, the door remains the entry point of choice.
Lift & Lock has worked with both the Police and Fire authorities to help "design out crime" and "design in safety". This has resulted in its newly developed range of lever handles. The special design allows you to "lock" the door from the inside with just a lift of the handle. Simple, convenient and stylish. In addition, the Lift & Lock action means that in the event of an emergency, exit is easily achieved by simply depressing the handle. No keys, snibs or fiddly thumbturns are involved. What could be easier! And the handle stays raised to give you "at a glace " comfort in knowing your door is secure.
The range is easy to install, replaces existing door handles and is designed to suit all door and lock types.
A New Challenge - and a New Solution from the Lift & Lock team.
After the initial launch of the Lift & Lock product range, the team was presented with some new challenges. As burglars became more and more resourceful, the need to improve door security came under the spotlight once again. This prompted the team to review their own products alongside standards both here in the UK and in Europe. The focus being on the soon to be harmonised, thief resistant codes.
Having gathered information from industry professionals in the security and housing arenas, new "Armoured" and "Anti Drill" variants were developed. These latest models meet these new codes and stop the problems of "cylinder snap" and "cylinder pull", both of which have received national press coverage recently.
The adjustable models also benefit from Lift & Lock's patented sliding keyway which allows the handles to be fitted to any cylinder lock with centres from 68 to 92mm. Combined with the company's Lift & Lock existing security feature, these models are sure to enhance security to many homes. Lift and Lock is also establishing a "Certified Installer" program to help home owners locate a professional fitter.
Lockguard launched at Glassex NEC
Glassex Stand 130 – “LockGuard” launched a unique registered installer program program at the NEC. Featuring the world patented “Lift and Lock” integrated locking handle the scheme is aimed at PVCu patio door and entrance door suppliers allowing the installers to add value to their products and giving them an edge in a competitive market place.
Most importantly the “LockGuard” solution gives installers the opportunity to revisit past customers and offer a retro fit armoured model. This not only deters burglars with a cylinder snap and cylinder pull solution but also eliminates the handle “droop” seen on many entrance doors today.
